01. What is CEREC®?
Known as Chair side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics CEREC® is a remarkable dental procedure that uses computer-aided design manufacturing technology. Also known as CAD/CAM, the amazing technology reduces downtime as your new crown is made and ready to wear the same day.
02. Advantages of CEREC®
As a licensed and preferred provider of CEREC®, Dr. Greenman explains that one of the biggest advantages of same day dental crowns is convenience. Conventional crowns require two dental appointments while CEREC® only requires one.
03. Traditional Dental Crown Procedure
The traditional crown process involves cleaning the tooth, taking x-rays, digital pictures, and creating a mold for your permanent dental crown. You will be fitted for a temporary dental crown while you wait for your permanent crown, which could take a couple of weeks to manufacture. When your new crown is ready, it will be placed.
04. CEREC® Dental Crowns
If you and Dr. Greenman determine that you are a good fit for CEREC®, he will choose a shade from the color guide that best matches your natural tooth.
After the color is chosen, the CEREC® software does its magic creating a perfect fitting crown that is sent to the in-house milling machine for manufacture. This process takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete.
When your new crown is ready, Dr. Greenman will check for fit and color before permanent placement. After your CEREC® crown is placed, it will be polished to perfection.
