Traditional Porcelain Veneers

A dental veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that fits over the front surface of a tooth to conceal imperfections. Traditional porcelain veneers are excellent for treating a range of dental problems, from chips and cracks to deep discolorations and slight misalignments. Dr. Greenman can even use porcelain veneers to widen teeth and fill in small gaps instead of using braces. The translucent nature of porcelain allows light to pass through the veneers to the natural tooth beneath, mimicking the properties of natural tooth enamel.

The Procedure to Place Porcelain Veneers

Three office visits are required to place traditional porcelain veneers. During your first visit to our Malibu-area office, you will meet with Dr. Greenman for a consultation. He will work with you to decide which treatment options are right for you and will help you achieve your goals. He will examine your teeth to make sure that you are a good candidate for porcelain veneers, and will take a high-resolution digital portrait of you so that you can compare it to your final result. We will e-mail this to you along with a concept photo showing the proposed changes that porcelain veneers will make to your smile.

Once you approve the concept photo and treatment plan, you will visit our practice for your second visit. During this visit, your teeth will be prepared to receive the porcelain veneers. We will make a three-dimensional mock-up and give this to you so that you can “test drive” your changes and determine if any other changes are needed. Once the final changes are completed, the models and photos are sent to Carlos Puga, our world-class ceramist, so that your porcelain veneers can be custom made.

Once your permanent porcelain veneers are ready, you’ll return to our Agoura Hills and Camarillo-area practice for a third visit to have them applied to your teeth. At this time, Dr. Greenman will ensure that your veneers fit properly and look natural. Once your smile makeover with porcelain veneers is complete, you will have your final portrait taken to show off your amazing results!

Premeers™ Prepless Veneers — An Advantage Over LUMINEERS®

Dr. Greenman has developed his own brand of prepless porcelain veneers called Premeers™, which provide significant advantages over LUMINEERS®. Premeers™ are available at Dr. Greenman's Malibu-area practice for patients who desire the outstanding results of porcelain veneers, without affecting the structure of their natural teeth. Premeers™ are so thin that they don't require removal of tooth structure as is necessary with traditional porcelain veneers. In addition, they are made in Hollywood at a top-level dental laboratory and custom-crafted to Dr. Greenman's exact specifications. Best of all, your Premeers™ prepless veneers can be removed without causing any harm to your natural tooth structure. However, most patients are so happy with the final result that they would never want their Premeers™ removed.

The Procedure to Place Premeers™

The procedure to place Premeers™ is similar to the placement of traditional porcelain veneers. You will visit our practice near Agoura Hills and Camarillo for a consultation so that Dr. Greenman can determine whether you are a good candidate for Premeers™. During your second visit, instead of preparing your tooth, we will simply make an impression to send to our dental laboratory. You will still be able to "test drive" your veneers with temporaries while your permanent Premeers™ veneers are being crafted. Then, at your third appointment, your Premeers™ will be bonded in place.
