DENTISTRY WHILE YOU SLEEP?
Hello. I’m Dr. Steven Greenman, and I wanted to talk to you about the benefits of having dentistry performed while sedated at my Southern California dental office.
I began practicing dentistry in 1981 after completing my DDS degree at UCLA. After all these years of full-time practice, I can tell you that for the overwhelming majority of people, dentistry is stressful.
Now you might think that sedation assisted dentistry is reserved only for the extremely fearful or phobic patient. The fact is that in many, many cases, dentistry performed while sedated is medically safer, and way more convenient for you as a patient, than traditional dentistry.
Anyone on with heart disease, high blood pressure medication or asthma—to name just a few common medical conditions–would be should consider sedation as the best method to reduce systemic stress caused by dental procedures.
Another major benefit of sedation assisted dentistry is to minimize the required visits for anyone considering extensive dental treatment. Lengthy, well planned appointments are extremely efficient, and with sedation, there is no perception of the passing of time, and no memory of the process.
For the fearful or phobic patient, imagine waking up and it’s all over!
