10 Days in Iberia

Lenore and I recently returned from Spain where we visited our daughter, Nicole.

She was completing her university language requirement by attending school in Madrid!  Isn’t she lucky to have us as parents!  Nikki really showed us the town, taking us to all of her student hangouts.  I couldn’t get over the fact that restaurants opened for dinner at 8:30 or 9:00 PM, and stayed open past midnight!  Sort of like Westlake Village–yeah right.

During the school week, Lenore and I drove down to the heart of Moorish Spain, Andalucia, passing through La Mancha, and visiting the white windmills made famous by Cervantes in his poem Don Quixote.  At the end of that week, Nikki joined us in Seville, and the next day we took a river cruise up the Guadalquiver, the very same river Columbus sailed after departing Seville for the voyage to the New World!

In all it was a memorable trip, and one I would recommend to everyone.  Nikki is home with us now, preparing to take the LSAT after she returns to UC Davis for her senior year.
